Hi Guys

I inherited a 6.5 Mannlichter Schonauer a few years back. The barrel was shot out and the stock in very bad condition. Due to limited finances I replaced the barrel with a Musgrave barrel and had a new stock built. The original ammo in 160gr RWS were very accurate but I only had a few and they were way to expensive to import (I live in SA) from Europe. The obvious solution was to reload. I tried for about 3 years to get and accurate 120gr and 140gr load as I wanted a slightly flatter trajectory than with the 160's. I acheived an "acceptable" load with the 120's and shot many antelope with the rifle but still not MOA. The rifle tended to throw the 3rd bullet and also seemed to project the bullet in a big circle as if you set it at 100m it would be shoot left at distances less than 100 and right a distances over 100. I'm used to pinpoint accuracy with my 270 so have never been at ease with the Mannlichter's accuracy. All the articles I've read rant and rave about this rifles accuracy which I have yet to see. I eventually decided to order 160gr RWS bullets as I thought the slower factory loads and longer bullets would stabilise the bullet and give me the accuracy I want. Needless to say the reason I'm writing this is because I still am not getting consistency and am starting to consider that I bought a "dud" barrel from Musgrave. Does anyone know if there is a way you can have your barrel checked or has any reloading ideas to try get consistent accuracy? Any help will be appreciated as I've been trying for about 10 seasons now to get an accurate load.
