My grandma always made this in the winter and it is delicious. You throw carrots, potatoes, venison, a few spoonfuls of beef soup base, and water in the slow cooker and let it go all day. When it is almost done, turn it up to high until it boils then add a mixture of corn starch and water to thicken it.

That sounds delicious! It doesn't get any easier than that either. Do you think it would be okay to throw in some onions and maybe a little garlic too?

I actually add both of those things to mine since I tweaked it to my tastes. It is delicious. I put garlic in just about everything I cook.
