I have a serious feral cat issue on my property and it's reaching the point where I am going to have to start shooting them. It frustrates me to no end that people don't spay and neuter their animals and then we end up with a problem like this. I'm thinking the most humane way to handle it is to trap them so I can execute a controlled shoot. Thoughts?

Is there any way you can get your local animal control agency involved? I would think that is the most humane way to deal with it. They will put them down and then you wouldn't have to personally shoot them.

Nope, they want no part of it. I've tried to get them out here, but every time I call they just tell me to shoot them. I live in a very rural area and that's the typical way of dealing with things like this out here. I'm thinking of going with a controlled shoot because I don't want to run the risk of just wounding them. I hate these cats, but I don't want them to suffer.

That stinks that animal control won't come out. I would hate to be in your shoes that is for sure. I think you are right in trapping them first.
