Several years back the first coyote in Nova Scotia appeared and it did not take long before they multiplied to large numbers. Trapping was the order of the day but to supplement, I geared up for coyote calling, yet was only able to get out once before life changed and a relocation to another province occurred. Thereby, I never really got into it. Coyote calling and hunting had been big in the States back then, so I thought I’d give it a go. Purchased a new magnum with a variable 3x to 12x scope and the appropriate calls. It was a mid winter scene, ski doo in and all (danged noise), and though I could not devote the time to wait out their closing, I later found tracks that circled my position, just out of sight. Thus, nary a shot was fired.  Have any of you members partaken in calling up coyotes before? And your success?
