Hi all !  Never was a rack hunter as deer hunting for me was only focused on the taking of table meat. It offered opportunity to place food on the table for wife and children that would otherwise not likely have ate so well. Have taken many in my younger year but for a long time I regarded it a pain, due to the fact I was also heavily engaged in trapping, whereas both season openings coincided with one another. Fur trapping back then was a seasonal income mainstay so it was crucial to also get the traps out, thus one’s deer hunting techniques became serious business. Have hung up too many to count, some with great stories behind them – all this for another time. The criteria behind hunting them had changed and I now do my hunting with a camera. But looking forward to other’s accounts on stalking and tracking, and their methods of doing up the meat.
